Outside of my devotion to faith and family, my passions for fitness and personal development have been the most constant in my life.
I grew up in East Texas and, after graduating from Stephen F. Austin, started my professional career in the golf business in The Woodlands, TX. In 1995 I transitioned to sales in Dallas, TX, where my career evolved, with the bulk of my time spent in the contract furniture industry.
It’s been said that the two most important days in your life are the day you’re born, and the day you determine “why”. So you see, your why is your superpower, and my why is to serve with my spiritual gifts and strengths through the vehicles of business and fitness. And so, in 2018, I became a full-time fitness professional.
I am a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and I’ve added numerous specializations, including corrective exercise, sports performance, nutrition, sleep & recovery, and golf performance.
In 2015, I felt the need to share and give back for all the years I’ve spent in personal development, and thanks to the wise counsel of a trusted friend, this blog was born. Luke 12:48 says, “For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.” And so, my goal with this blog is to share my thoughts on Business, Fitness, Health & Fitness, and Personal Development that will hopefully, in some way, add value to you. In May 2023, due to the wise counsel of another trusted advisor, I’m now dipping into sharing my thoughts via YouTube and Instagram, and I’ve never been more excited. Of course, my blog will not go away as my writing is the foundation; however, we live in an instant gratification society. While many will watch/listen to a video, fewer have the attention span to read a lengthy blog post. And so, my goal moving forward is to serve both communities of followers.
I have lived in the North Dallas area since January 1994 and call it home. With my family roots firmly planted in East, TX, I have no intentions of leaving in the short run. Between my love for my church and my extensive network of friends developed over the past 20 years, Dallas has been very good to me.
